KIM 1656 is a zinc dialkyl thiophosphate oxidation, corrosion and EP wear inhibitor lubricating oil additive. KIM 1656 is prepared from thiophosphoric acid made from mixed primary-secondary alcohols. It is generally used with the detergent, dispersant and acid neutralizing additive in engine oils. This additive provides oxidation, copper-lead bearing corrosion and wears control in diesel and gasoline engines. It is particularly effective over a broad range of service conditions, from low temperature gasoline engine to high temperature supercharged diesel engine service and industrial oil applications.

 

KIM 1656 is typically used as a component to formulate:

  • Anti-wear hydraulic additives.
  • Anti-wear and antioxidant for crankcase lubricants.
  • Bearing corrosion and wear inhibitor for crankcase lubricants.

 

KIM 1656 exhibits the following features:
