Versatile Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine Oil Additive-KIM 8799B

KIM 8799B is a new product of the heavy-duty diesel additive packages. The KIM 87XX series is designed to provide robust performance against specific market profiles within the heavy-duty sector in cost effective product formulations. In addition to the individual core products designed to meet key market profiles, KIM 8799B is designed to cover all of these profiles a different treat rates in a simple cascade scheme.

The specific cascade treat rates are as outlined below. To ensure compositional consistency with the basic core packages, KIM 8799B has to be used in conjunction with a small trimming booster package, KIM 8757B. This booster is designed to have minimal treat rate in the finished oil so that the majority of the additive treat is provided by KIM 8799B. This might allow the blending plant to utilize KIM 8799B as a core bulk package with the trimming booster supplied in drums. This is logically favorable if additive bulk tanks are limited or if the drum storage space is at a premium. A separate trimming boost package, KIM 8758B, has also been designed to allow lower tier oils to be blended to 10 TBN.
